USA Leading Mechanical Contractor to take the main stage once again at the Construction Innovation Forum
The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) is excited to announce Mr Doug Moore, President of McKinstry is the latest high profile Mechanical Contractor from the USA to grace the Construction Innovation Forum. Since 2010, the AMCA and the Australian industry has been extremely fortunate to have US Engineering, Cannistraro, The Brandt Group of Companies, The Hill Group, Comfort Systems USA, and Crown House Technologies (UK). McKinstry’s participation this year adds to this star-studded list.
Doug Moore has over 30 years of experience in the design and construction industry in the Pacific Northwest. Under his leadership, McKinstry has grown from a local mechanical contractor into a nationally recognized, comprehensive design, build, operate and maintain enterprise. As a leader of construction, energy, sustainability and smart buildings, McKinstry’s footprint across the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountains, Midwest and Southwest continues to grow addressing needs in schools, hospitals, government buildings, industrial facilities and commercial offices.
Doug has promoted the pursuit of high performance buildings coupled with next generation construction techniques to deliver cost-effective buildings that model environmental stewardship. He is currently focused on two areas: increasing the speed of building design and construction and creating adaptive buildings that interact with occupants, operators and smart grid. Since launching his career with McKinstry in the late 1970’s, Doug has risen through the ranks, and now, as president oversees a staff of 1,600 employees.
He shares his extensive knowledge by serving as a member of industry committees and advisory boards for various organizations, among them Seattle University’s Center for Leadership Formation and Center for Business Ethics; the Oregon BEST Commercialization Advisory Board; WSU’s Imagine Tomorrow high school student competition; and the Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE) Mentorship Program. He is a past president of the Puget Sound Chapter of ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and corresponding member of ASHRAE’s task group on HVAC Contractors and Design Build Firms. Mr. Moore is a registered professional engineer and a LEED® Accredited Professional.

Doug will be joined at the forum by thought leaders and practitioners from across the supply chain, each providing unique insight into how leading firms such as Turner, COWI (Denmark), Woods Baggot, and Autodesk are utilising technological advancements to deliver innovative best practice solutions in the building and construction industry.
This year’s forum returns to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre – 14-15 September.
